Welcome to Pachamama
Et voila! Here I am finally on the beautiful island of La Palma (of course I realized immediately because that's his name).
Also called "island of spring", because the climate here is more or less always spring.
The bus trip from Santa Cruz (the capital) to Los Llanos (the nearest town to Tijarafe, where is Pachamama) I won't forget it ever.
Even though I was so tired for having spent a sleepless night in Barcelona, having taken 2 planes to get here, the panorama I encountered on the way it's been breathtaking, indescribable.
We walked the perimeter of half the island, along the coast, from the top of the mountains.
On the way there was no village, so everything in full "naturaleza".
Sono stato accolto con affetto e simpatia dalla famiglia Pachamamaright now the project is chock full of volunteers, we are currently 10, coming from all over Europe.
There are obviously many things to do all day long, and every one cares or takes care of anything in particular, except when we have to do a group effort.
I as usual I'm starting to take care of the kitchen, in the near future to make bread, but also to take care of the goats (milk them, take them out to pasture) and then to the production of cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, etc.
They are obviously superentusiasta and I am learning little by little milking (seems like a no-brainer, but it's not, it takes lots of practice) with master Olivier, who daily patiently accompanies me and following me.
The pasture then it's cool, it gives me a sense of freedom is amazing, I have time to be with myself, sometimes I think, sometimes just "feel" what surrounds me or hear myself, it's one of the moments of the day I love you more.
Every day I try to learn a little more about plants, herbs, flowers, vegetables, and I realize more and more how much time I lost by directing all my energy just to try to earn my life trying to make money to survive. While I miss the basic learning that every human being should know in order to meet its basic needs, that is, plants and food.
With shame I realize more and more how are ignorant on the subject, having seen since childhood vegetables only in markets or supermarkets, and having no idea what they are and where they come from and how to grow these plants.
Come volontario di Pachamama I had access to an Indian tepee everything to me, that's going to be my little home, or rather my bedroom for the next month!
I am preparing a more detailed article to better describe what I am experiencing and how the project works, for the moment I can access internetsolamente from the library of Tijarafe, which is 10 km from Pachamama
Oh, I forgot: reading my blog a dear friend I've not heard from time he contacted me asking me tips and advice to prepare for your trip, and told me that reading my tiny and simple blog she felt like taking a backpack and go!
I was really happy when he told me, that's exactly what I was hoping would happen to any of you when I first started writing!!
Thanks Angela, I've sent a lot of courage and a lot of will to go on!!
